There is not one thing I can find that I don't like about this iottie. Uses are limitless, first the telescoping arm makes the ease of use to have the phone close is amazing, between my Company truck, personal and wife's SUV each have a different windshield angles the adjustable arm is just awesome it is so stiff even with the nut loose it still won't move. Not to mention the bottom of phone clip can adjust to almost another 1.25 inches to give that much more, if you have a big phone I'm using the note 9 and with the otterbox defender it fits fine. The suction cup is so sticky o had to take a razor blade just to get the suction cup off my windshield it felt it was Gorilla Glued. Best phone holder I have bought. Wish I could say the same about my 85 dollar Harley phone holder.
The first iOttie I ever bought was the One Touch 3, and ever since then I have had people ask me about the phone holder in my car. So, I started giving these out as gifts, and people loved 'em. The best part for me is that it just won't budge once it's on. the sticky suction cup does the trick in any situation. And if it finally comes off after a year of sitting on your dash, rinse it with warm water, and put it right back on. Even though it has a metric ton of adjustment knobs, it doesn't vibrate noticeably at all. That's where other brands fail, and iOttie just breezes through. Last year, in early 2018, I gifted the new One Touch 4 to my dad. 3 months later he came back, and he asked if I could order him three more. Since then I've been giving this new version away left and right. Last week, after years of trusty service, a small plastic piece finally broke off behind the touch shield of my beloved One Touch 3. Now, I finally get to upgrade to the One Touch 4 myself. It's got some big shoes to fill, but I think it'll be up to the task.
Great product. Telescopes out far. Lots of modifiers to get the right position for your phone. I have it on the dash and it's very secure and doesn't bounce. I never thought the one handed feature was necessary until I used it. I realized that it's way easier and safer to use while on the road. I can also fit my charge cable right through the two pieces at the bottom so I can charge as well.
I like the ability to adjust the phone in multiple directions. I'e had it for about a month now and it is a solid mount. I keep my phone plugged in most of the time and the mount does not interfere with the cable. I attached the sticky base to my dashboard (Toyota Highlander), I hope that when I dismount it won't damage the dashboard, it should not for what I read. I had been using a cradle attached to the vent which pretty much made that vent unusable. I like being able to use the dashboard vent, especially now with low temps outside.
As with the other iOttie mount I have, this one was very easy to install and always maintains its suction. The big difference is the round sticky pad they give you to attach to your dash before you attach the mount itself. That allows for a very smooth surface for the suction cup. Once you use the lever to initiate suction, it will not release even with significant bumping while driving. The only time it lost suction for me was when it was in direct sunlight for a few hours. But it easily re-suctioned and has not had a problem since. The clamps easily and firmly grip the phone when you place the phone against the initiate button in the back. I find it a bit difficult to use the release levers on the side. They are pretty sensitive and sometimes don't depress all the way, which prevents the clamps from releasing. I just have to make sure I pinch them fully to disengage the clamps. I would not hesitate to buy this again. I have already encouraged others to buy this mount.
So, I've had my iOttie for almost a year now. I use the dashboard pad that comes with the iOttie. Mine started peeling off a month or so ago. I emailed iOttie with a picture of the peeled pad and not only did they reply swiftly, but they also sent me a new pad no questions asked. I also had a problem with that replacement pad (not sure if the place I put it was just too damn curvy or what). I sent iOttie a picture of that pad, and then they surprised me again by not only immediately replacing the pad, but they ALSO sent me a free travel kit too! I didn't even ask for it, but that's stellar customer service IMO! The iOttie holder itself is absolutely fantastic. I wish there was just a *slight* more freedom of movement, but I have no complaints. Def recommend for both the product and customer service!
I really like this dashboard mount. It was very easy to install. It hasn’t moved at all since I installed it. It is very versatile regarding cases on your phone. My husband’s case is bulkier than mine (iPhone 8 plus) and it adjusts and works fine for him. I put a pop socket in the back of my case and it doesn’t fit quite as it used to. I have to align it just right for it to work but it still works fine. I really like that you can turn it so that your phone is in landscape mode. I also like that it can tilt up, down and side to side. It’s also nice that the bottom lightning port is exposed so I can plug in my charger if needed. Overall it’s a great purchase.
With all the available car mounts on Amazon, how do you pick one? I needed an arm that extended 4-5 inches from the windshield or dashboard. I picked this one because it has an arm that extends and articulates a few ways. I initially tried it on the windshield, where it worked well, just not in a location that was easy to see. I thought maybe it would work for me better on the dashboard, but was reluctant because I never though it would adhere to the pebbled, curved plastic dash. When I tried to remove it from the windshield it would not budge. I went back to the instructions to make sure I was removing it properly, then continued to pry it off the glass. It mounted to the dashboard material just fine and it has not budged in more than a month since I installed it. I have the arm extending nearly the entire distance, maybe 4 inches, Amazing!
This thing has been through hell and back in my truck for the past year and its still going strong. Its pretty low profile and doesnt block too much, the suction is beyond fantastic on both the dash and the windshield. I love the ease of locking my phone in place and unlocking is a breeze. The only downside here is the phone case you have will def matter. I have an otterbox defender series on my google pixel 3xl and while it keeps it locked in 99% of the the time there has definitely been a time or two my phone popped out but it was usually when i had it plugged in to the charger. Overall I’m thoroughly satisfied with this and would purchase it again!
I have a 2015 Mustang and wanted a clean look for a cell phone holder. I initially bought a vent phone holder/magnet and that did not work out due the style of my vent. I then bought a cell phone holder that goes into my CD player. This didn’t work as well as the shift was too close to my holder and my phone was in the way. I wasn’t too thrilled because it seemed like the only way I could mount it was the window given my dash style (I was wrong). It was an easily assembly and no directions needed on my end. I was able to mount it to my dashboard because it has a great feature and that it extends out! This was awesome as I can keep the clean look without having a suction cup on my window (especially in HOT AZ weather) and have it eventually turning yellow. This holds my Iphone XS Max with no issues. I would second guess the purchase, go for it!
I really can’t imagine an easier way to place my phone in a holder than the way you do in this one. You just set it in and a pressure release button causes the arms to clamp onto the phone. My phone has not fallen out of it yet either. It is great that this phone holder is so versatile. I appreciate that I can situate it how I want regardless of the angle of my dash or where I want it placed. I am worried about my dash of it breaks or when it comes time to take it off (the sticky pad is remarkably strong. It could hold me like I were a fly on fly tape). Plus it is a little bulky but it carries itself well.
This mount is great. The adhesion pad to the dashboard is super strong, no way coming off. After a little while the suction lost its grip and I have to reset it, but it’s not so often that it deserves a bad review. There’s a little piece in the bottom that holds the phone in place and i broke it but the company replaced the entire mount no charge to me! They completely back up their product and had the fastest and greatest customer service. You can’t loose by trying this mount. It works great and has great customer service.
Have purchased 2 units so far. It is good quality. The mechanism for holding and releasing the mobile phone works very good. The suction power and adhesion is super great, awesome, in both dashboard or in glass windshield. There is one thing I didn't like, one of the two because of the sun heat when I tried to change the unit to another car, it started to leave a gummy adhesive residue hard to clean, had to use an industrial chemical organic solvent called Ketone (nail polish remover) industrial grade. At the end of the day had top throug that unit away. I think it is better to attach the unit to the dashboard to avoid this problem
I torture-tested it, well sort of. I drive a car with a very hard suspension (mazdaspeed3) and I drove it on an extremely rough road for a full hour. At first it began sagging a bit, but then I tightened it some more and it stopped completely. Normally I hate suction cups, they are always crappy and fall off very easily after a while, but this one has impressed me. Awesome product so far, has already exceeded my expectations. Especially since my dash is not completely flat and it still manages to stick on holding a heavy phone, on a super bumpy road, in a car with a rough ride.
I must have looked at a couple dozen of these types of smartphone mounts before choosing this one. First, the basics: The item arrived on time and as described. Next, it adhered to my dash without any problems. It has done a great job holding my smartphone in place and the quick release mechanism makes it easy to use. It has come loose from the dash one time, but it was a very hot summer day in Georgia, and the car was parked on blacktop. So, the interior temperature was extremely high. I followed the instructions (wash suction cup with warm water) and reattached it to the dash. It has been there for months without any problems. I bought a second one for our other car.
Tennessee just changed their cell phone law and I needed something in a hurry! Nicely packaged, everything was in its own little zip bag. Instructions have pictures and verbiage. I found the pictures were not helpful. The assembly was simple. I put it right on the dash of my car sitting in full sun for hours and it everything adhered easily. I like that everything is adjustable with just a turn of a screw head and that my iPhone X with case fits vertically and horizontally. The arm moves in a variety of directions and positions to make viewing simple. A great product that I would recommend to anyone who needs a hands free phone mount. I did not try placing it the windshield--just on the dash.
This is by far the best and most versatile of any holder I've owned. It has so many angles of adjustment, that I've put two of them in different vehicles now, and I hope they stay in business when I need more. The suction cup is very strong, even in the Florida heat on windshields, and you can get it sticky again by running it under warm water if it comes undone. The gap on the bottom for your charger cord is perfectly placed. The strength of the "grip" is also really good, as I open up my Jeep occasionally, and even in high winds and highway speeds...the phone stays in place without fear of it getting blown out (or shaken loose) the open doors. I've used multiple sized phones, and they all work great - best product I've bought online in a while, and I'm glad I paid a few dollars more compared to the others. Most of my others ones broke, fell apart, didn't have a good suction cup, wouldn't fit multiple devices/phones, etc. This one is fantastic!
Not only is it easy to install, but the ease of use is fantastic. Once it is placed you simply squeeze the two little wings and the arms spread and when you place your phone on it they automatically close with a very strong grip. Only to note that if you use the hAnds free feature of your phone like Google maps etc. Make sure that it is installed close to your line of sight. I made the mistake of putting it a bit too far to my right. Takes my eyes too much out of line with the road. I purchased some extra dash mount pads which helps the sticky suction cup to adhere that way I don't have to make a mess by trying to remove the original one. That way I can reposition to a better, safer spot. In all it works great.
I’ve been looking at these types of products for a while now and finally decided I needed one for when I’m using my navigation app. I’m very impressed with the versatility of the mounting; the product will hold my iPhone 7 Plus in any position I want in my dash or windshield. It is surprisingly stable mounted on my dashboard and in the perfect position for me to see the screen well. It holds the phone very securely without having to remove its case; other products I’ve tried allowed the phone to fall as I was driving, neither safe nor convenient. The holder feels well made to me. I believe it will hold up and serve me for some time, maybe through my next phone.
This thing is literally awesome and worth the money. I got tired of trying to put my phone on the steering colum or in a cup holder while I’m following directions to go to new areas or what not. This makes it much easier. I believe this can fit a lot of phones. It fit an iPhone 8+ and a galaxy note 5 and note 9 with defender cases on them. And it holds the phone very securely. To put that to the test I hit a speed bump in an empty parking lot going 30 and the phone never moved an inch including its stand. Definitely recommend this to people who need something that will hold their phones on the dash or wherever you choose to mount it. It can also go in any direction you choose it to go. Horizontal, vertical, higher, lower, upside down, and just any other direction probably.
You can transfer it between vehicles and for most dashes will stick right on. The mount is not shaky, creepy, or short of features. It held my iPhone X (with case), and before that it held my iPhone 6s Plus. I use this for long distance travel and commuting and t is perfect. The mount makes it very easy to load and unload your phone and change the orientation. This new model looks best out of all of them.
This is my third gen iOttie device - and they just keep getting better. My only gripe (not worth a deduction) is that in my current car, the weight of my iphone 8 plus hanging at an incredibly low angle kept tearing the stick disk off the dash - something I had never experienced in other configurations with less weight at that angle. So I glued the disk to the dash (thanks Shoe Goo!), and no more issues. This is one of those simple devices that is extremely configurable. It can be flipped over, extended, and there are joints and hand-turn adjustments that can support some pretty wild configurations. It easily holds my iPhone 8s with its large case, and snapping the phone in or out is simple.
I didn't want a magnet and searched for a while to find the 'right' dashboard mount. Everyone who gets in my car mentions it. It is sturdy and easy to use with one hand (I have small hands). I like that I can put anyone's phone in the mount so if something else directions, I can just pop their phone in so I can see it. It swivels and sits nicely. I have it on backwards and stretched out because I have t-rex arms. I didn't use the sticky thing that came for dashboard mounting. It is on my dashboard but just using the suction cup as if it were on the window. It is awesome and my sister and daughter want to order one as well.
Absolutely love this phone car mount. Incredibly secure hold not only on the dashboard but with my phone. I like that it has an opening at the bottom so that I can run my USB charging cord to the phone when my phone is mounted. I tried the vent one, but the mount wouldn't stay in the vent. The CD kind was not an option. This is my third iOttie (I have one of the earliest ones and a newer one that extends). For this vehicle, I wanted one that would extend and then be able to drop below 180 degrees so that the phone hangs a big below my dash. This one's ability to pivot 225 degrees made all the difference. I can keep it in eyesight without it taking up too much of my vision out.
I researched a lot before buying this car mount. I have been using it for quite awhile now, and I have no complaints. Here was why I chose those one, and how it does on each point. - Secure Mount: Has never fallen off. - Securely holds TWO very different phone sizes: It does do this successfully. I have an iPhone 5s, and my wife has an iPhone 6+ which is quite large in comparison. We both have Otterbox cases. The 6+ is snug, but fits! My phone fits quite easily. - Ability to charge via cable with phone mounted: Yep, I can do that. Works just fine. - Adjustable at multiple angles to best suit the mount placement in each car: I bought two for cars with very different windshields and with very different placement needs - a slanted windshield in a sportier car vs a sedan windshield, a high dash vs. a moderate dash. Both worked out nicely given the adjustments available on the mount. Great purchase. Never a daily frustration, which is what I wanted in a mount. I also feel safer with my phone up within my line of vision.
As a rural mail carrier I was I desperate need of a phone holder. I absolutely love this! It is easy to just place my phone and the sides close onto my phone holding it in place. I have a s9+. I go down so many bumpy roads and this holds my phone perfectly with no issues. I love the multiple different sections you can adjust. This is a definite in my car. I loved so much I even purchased another one for my regular vehicle!!! You just push the side pieces and the holder comes out. Then they stay out until you press the iottie symbol. All u have to do is push your phone into the holder and it snaps onto your phone. By doing that this holder should be able to fit a wide variety of phones! The bottom holder that keeps ur phone from sliding down also is adjustable. Best phone holder yet
First of all I don't know what everyone's problem is with saying this product didn't stick well. The video I posted shows the base unit practically pulling my plastic dash cover off. This thing sticks WELL. I live in Florida and to say it can get HOT is an understatement. I have tried to pull this off and I am not kidding when I say it will take considerable force to remove it once attached. A previous holder I had was similar in it's suction cup design and it also had no issue holding fast to my dash and this one seems nicer. The articulate freedom of movement is very good and the entire thing is sturdy. The one handed operation to attach the phone works well with a satisfying SNAP. Removing the phone is just as simple, simply squeeze the two arms on the side and the phone detaches. The telescoping arm is nice also since on my mustang I have to attach it further back on the dash. So far I'm very happy with the holder and glad I purchased it.
I spent a great deal of time looking for the perfect dashboard and windshield phone mount. After using this for several weeks, I would highly recommend this product. Easy to install (I did not use the sticky pad in fear it would damage my dashboard) - instead, I relied on the suction cup alone. Initially, I was worried that it would not hold, as my phone is quite heavy (Samsung Galaxy S9+ with OtterBox Commuter case). Boy, was I surprised! It really held - although, I should note that I was sure to clean my dash before installing (instructions are provided). The mount itself is sturdy, easy to rotate/adjust and great for travel. To recapitulate, I would highly recommend this product!
I bought this product because I recently bought my first car and frequently need to use the GPS on my phone, but I didn’t have a place to put my phone where I could easily see it while driving. I wanted something sleek that would look nice and match my car’s black and light beige interior while still being practical and inexpensive. Based on the reviews for this product, I purchased it. It was easy to install. I like how easy it is to put my phone on it; I have an iPhone 6 with a semi clunky case and it fits perfectly. I love that I can rotate and swivel the phone to point in all different directions and even switch to landscape mode. It holds onto the phone well and the phone has never fallen out of it. I like that there is room for a charger to stick out of it for when I’m charging while driving - that’s handy. All in all, I’m glad I bought this. It’s the perfect home for my phone in the car and I would highly recommend it.
Only stand I found to work with my iPhone XS Max in otterbox defender series case. While the fit is not perfect it is a bit snug and could be slightly bigger. I recommend placing the phone as low as possible in the holder so it is more secure. Don’t grab the phone by the bottom or it might fall out when car shakes or bumps. Otherwise is the only solution that I know of for a phone of this size as my case is giant! I know several other people with this stand and they all like it and use it for phones in giant cases. Highly recommend! Very versatile and should last through several phones. Included pads are also very sticky so install with care.
I'm really picky on these due to the obvious fact that they're being used while driving and I can't have my directions fall while I'm driving a van full of kids. I had one of these two years ago and my husband...broke it while rushing to grab his phone out of it. I still don't understand how as it's a SIMPLE RELEASE system that coincides with how your hand is already in position to grab the phone.... I went a year before finding it again, which was agonizing and trust me when I say he got an ear full from me every time. Especially over a 4 hour drive to beach. He is not a good navigator so my options were following his guide or driving with one hand and holding phone with directions in the other hand. He is NOT allowed to touch this one.... I place it on the dash to far left where I already have to be careful of the blind spot caused by vans design. Just remember, to use it on dash you have to use the round black disc that comes with and the suction cup goes on top of the disc. I have never had it fall or fail me. There are multiple places to adjust and tighten it so you can personalize it for your vehicle and view.
We just bought a second one of these. I am finally leaving this review to share that we have had great success with the first one through extremely hot and extremely cold days (both on a rough dash and on a smooth window). I won't speak for the second one as we haven't had it long enough. The only thing I should add is that judging from other peoples reviews it sounds like they just may have a quality control issue in the factory. I see a lot of good reviews and a lot of bad reviews. To me that means that you either get a good one or a bad one. For us though we have no complaints.
Used with a Samsung note 10 + phone with a heavy duty case in a stiff suspension on rough rodes nor at high G force. If by any chance due to hot extreme hot weather or cold not sure exactly what can triger it to fall off just wet it with water clean it & re stick it trust me it will stick like glue again. if it's coming loose its probably due to some material your sticking it to. Mines on a rough plastic in a VW Golf R without any issues. As far as a suction cups this is one of the strongest I've ever used. It's worth every penny & then some. Also like the fact it does not damage anything like vent mounts do due to weight. I've tried the magnets as well & they do not hold big phones in cars like mine & the magnets on note phones with pens can interfere with phones pens, wireless charging etc. It's very universal in what phones it can hold & mounting placement as well. Definitely 1 of the best car phone mount out.
I'm starting to like this one way better than my CD phone holder. It's so simple to use. I love that I don't have to fiddle with it to squeeze the phone. All you do is press it against the back and it locks shut. Super easy. And the suction has been sticking without any problem even when I drive on bouncy fire roads. I would strongly recommend this phone holder. I may end up replacing my CD one with this one!
I needed a phone holder to keep my phone handy and accessible to plug into the U Connect in my Jeep. I didn't want to stick the adhesive pad just anywhere on the dash as many of the dash surfaces are leather covered. The length was just right to use the suction cup to attach to the window, and still hold the phone just at the edge of the dash board. Been using it for a few weeks, and no problems with the phone slipping out. Easy to insert the phone, and the mini usb plug on the phone centers perfectly with the opening in the bottom of the phone holder.
This is based on initial experience; I ordered one for each vehicle after assembling and trying one. It's made of plastic, which may be problematic in extreme cold. I'd expect the dash disk adhesive to soften in the hot southern sun, and would not recommend putting adhesive on a dash regardless, based on prior experience. The suction cup is properly designed with a lever that actuates the suction. This should be very secure if applied to clean glass, and the lever should permit easy removal. In most cars, putting in at the bottom left corner of the windshield should be practical and out of the way. My main use is simply with Google maps while driving. It's problematic to hold the phone in one hand or balance it on a lap, or prop it against part of the dash or console while driving. My secondary use is in flying, putting an electronic map in easy view, on the small screen of a cell phone, as navigation backup in case of power failure. More after use...
Don't bother with those crappy 'vent' mounts. They're all terrible and will probably just mess up your car's vents. This product is vastly superior, and a great price! I bought two of these (one for myself and my wife) and we couldn't be happier. Installation was a breeze, and daily usage is also supremely easy! You won't regret buying this universal car mount. If you don't want to stick it to your dash, you can use the window. We both mounted ours on the dash (never was a big fan of window mounts because of the blocking of the view, but on the dash it works perfectly.
I bought a different brand and my husband bought this one...After comparing them, I returned mine and bought one of these as well. We both have them mounted on our dashboard close enough to our steering wheels that it is so easy to use our phones as a GPS (which is way more accurate than those that come with our cars), and also if I receive a phone call it is so easy to touch to answer and have on speaker phone which is way less annoying for everyone than the blue tooth in my car. Also we love how easy it is to put the phone in the holder, it literally automatically snaps in place on the sides to hold the phone securely, and is very easy to release with literally one hand as it has other levers on each side as well that you just push in and the top levers release the phone automatically. Very easy to charge your phone with a car charger while in place in the holder. We love this holder, recommend highly.
I have this mounted in my 1998 Jeep Wrangler which is a very bumpy ride. At first I had this mounted to my dash board off to the left side of the steering wheel so it didn't block any of my visuals. But after about a month, the pad that stick to the dash ended up coming off. So I tried sticking it to the glass, and has worked faaaaar better. I'm not sure I'm ever going to be able to get it off. Not with at least a solid 30 minutes of trying I'm sure. It handles the ruggedness of the Jeep very well even when offroading. My phone has never fallen out. Having g the ability to pop my phone in with on hand is amazing and surprisingly secure.
When Georgia went to NO CELL PHONES touching your body this past summer, we knew that we needed something other than on the seat between our legs as a location to put the phone. I am short, so this holder works perfectly for us. On the vehicle that I normally drive we have it on the ledge of the dashboard and have adjusted the arm so that it comes down and out of the window. It is centered between the driver and the passenger. On the other vehicle, my husband mounted the holder to the left of the steering wheel on the front of the dashboard, again out of the line of sight (for driving) but within proximity of where he is sitting. Anyway, the arm (in both vehicles) is staying in place and the phones seem nice and secure within the mount! For us, it was a perfect purchase
